Hi, I'm Alison O'Brien and I am a native of Northern Virginia and relocated to the Roanoke Valley in 1998. I raised three daughters in SW Roanoke County and fell in love with the area. My love and enthusiasm for the Roanoke Valley has been a key factor in many of my family members moving to Roanoke from up and down the east coast.
After my first career as a stay-at-home mom, I spent 15 years working in digital marketing and sales – the majority of those years at The Roanoke Times/roanoke.com.
Honesty, dependability, and integrity top the list when it comes to my core values. I am a people person. I strive to make the home buying/selling experience as stress-free as possible, whether my clients are seeking a starter home, their dream home, or the perfect place to enjoy retirement.
As is an active member of the Roanoke Regional Home Builders Association I have the pleasure of serving on the Board of Directors and as a member of their Associate Advisory Council. I chair the Spring Home Show committee and I was awarded the Associate Member of the Year for my volunteering efforts for 2023 and Past-Chair award in 2024. I also head up MKB's participation in the RRHBA's Toys for Tots campaign each year. MKB has been awarded the Santa Award each year I have participated in the toy drive.
In my free time I enjoy watching Washington Commanders games with my husband Dan, spending time with my grandchildren and creating unique paper crafts! I send a newsletter out each month to folks interested in moving to the Roanoke Valley or who currently live in the Roanoke Valley. Each month I include a cute paper craft that I have made. I am the #CraftyRealtor - if you'd like to sign up for my newsletter, please email or text me your name and mailing address!
